Live TRUE.

Feel whole again, with a solution made just for you.

Hair loss from medical conditions or treatments can be deeply emotional and isolating. Too many individuals struggle to find clear information, real medical support, and pathways to coverage,  leaving them to navigate a confusing system alone. True by K. Nicole® was founded to bridge that gap, combining clinical compassion, education, and advocacy so you feel supported from day one.

Insurance-Supported Cranial Prosthesis Care

Understand Your Benefits Before You Move Forward

Insurance coverage for a cranial prosthesis can vary by plan, diagnosis, benefits, and individual policy requirements.

TRUE by K. Nicole® provides guided insurance support to help you better understand your available benefits, documentation requirements, and potential pathway toward cranial prosthesis care.

Can Insurance Help Cover a Cranial Prosthesis?

Some health insurance plans may provide benefits for a cranial prosthesis when hair loss is related to a qualifying medical condition or treatment.

Coverage is not the same for every client. Your plan may have specific requirements related to eligibility, documentation, authorization, provider participation, reimbursement, or benefit limits.

That is why we recommend beginning with benefit verification rather than assuming you are—or are not—covered.

How TRUE Supports Your Insurance Journey

You do not have to navigate the insurance process without guidance.

Our Care Team helps clients understand the information provided by their insurer and identify the next steps that may be required for their individual coverage pathway.

Support may include:

  • Benefit verification

  • Review of applicable coverage information

  • Guidance regarding commonly requested documentation

  • Insurance terminology and process education

  • Authorization or coverage-planning support when applicable

  • Claim documentation and submission support when applicable

  • Communication related to the cranial prosthesis care process

Insurance requirements vary by plan. Services are provided according to the client's individual pathway and applicable payer requirements.

What Documentation May Be Needed?

Depending on your insurance plan and individual circumstances, documentation may include:

Prescription
A prescription for a cranial prosthesis from an appropriate treating provider.

Letter of Medical Necessity
Some plans may request additional medical-necessity documentation.

Clinical Documentation
Relevant physician or treating-provider notes may be requested to support the medical need for the prosthesis.

Additional Documentation
Your insurer may request other information based on its individual requirements.

You do not need to have every document in hand before requesting benefit verification.

Start With Benefit Verification

Step 1 | Submit Your Request

Complete the complimentary Insurance Benefit Verification Request with your current insurance information.

Step 2 | Allow Our Care Team to Review Your Benefits

Our Care Team will review the available benefit information and help identify what your plan may require.

Please allow approximately 5–7 business days for benefit verification.

Benefit verification provides information about your plan at the time of review.

It is not a guarantee of coverage, authorization, payment, or reimbursement.

Step 3 | Plan Your Care

Once your benefit information is understood, we'll guide you toward the appropriate next step.

Cranial prosthesis care requires a Planning Session so we can gather the measurements and information needed to consider fit, coverage, comfort, lifestyle, preferences, and your individualized care needs.

Your insurance pathway and your prosthesis planning work together, but they serve different purposes:

Benefit Verification helps us understand your coverage pathway.

Your Planning Session helps us understand your cranial prosthesis care.

Planning Your Insurance-Supported Care

Insurance benefits do not determine which prosthesis is appropriate for you.

Your measurements, hair-loss needs, fit, coverage, comfort, lifestyle, preferences, and construction needs help guide your personalized care plan.

After Planning, you'll receive recommendations and a personalized estimate based on the level of care appropriate for you.

If insurance is part of your pathway, applicable benefit information and payer requirements can then be considered alongside your care plan.

Understanding Your Financial Responsibility

Insurance-supported care does not always mean that your plan will cover the full cost of a cranial prosthesis.

Depending on your benefits, you may have:

  • A deductible

  • Coinsurance

  • A copayment

  • A benefit maximum

  • Out-of-network responsibility

  • Non-covered amounts

  • Other plan-specific financial responsibility

Our Care Team will help you understand the coverage information available to us so you can make a more informed decision before moving forward.

Already Verified Your Benefits?

If your benefits have already been reviewed and you are ready to begin planning your cranial prosthesis care, your next step is the Planning Session.

Prefer to Understand Insurance Before You Begin?

Insurance terminology and coverage processes can be unfamiliar—especially when you are navigating medically related hair loss at the same time.

Educational resources are available through TRUE Praxis™ to help you better understand insurance concepts, ask informed questions, and communicate more confidently about your benefits.
